ok, l will try to be completely truthful, please return the favor. last night l was in my basement using a propane torch, l was fairly close to the ground in a room where the windows were sealed shut. (i checked last night and though the windows are sealed shut, there is still air coming in from them and from the innacuracies in the walls as the room is under construction) l began to use the torch, my breathing rate was normal, maybe a little reserved, and then 1-1.5 minutes after l started l smelled the chemicals being put into the air and knew it could not be cool so l stopped and left the room.

the room was average sized and the door was allready open. so l went into the adjacent room and took a few breaths, then l put on a gas mask and went back in to the work room. after this l finally went outside for a few minutes and drank some water to get more oxygen to the brain. l did not really have any symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning listed on line (felt a bit lite headed though it could have been plecebo), and the rest of the night l breathed fresh air.

sorry to sound pretentious but l am an intellectual, always thinking. l have noticed my stream of conciousness has been interrupted, similar in manner to the day after a night of drinking. l took some benzodiazepines earlier to calm down and right now l feel a kind if rubber band effect around by cabeza, but it could just be the afterglow of lorazepam.

the only part of my body l care about is my brain, which is really the only thing i've got. do you think l massacred my neurons by being in that room for 1-2 minutes unprotected? will l regain my composure soon (some sites say people have drawing effects for about a week before they return to normal), and finally, should l go see a neuroligist? it has been 36 hours now and l still feel kind of absent minded. could this be temporary? thank you.

has carbon monoxide poisoning permanantly damaged my brain

personally I think you're being a bit of a hypercondriac. Unless you had a hose pumping the fumes right into your lugs for that 1-2 minutes that you were exposed, I highly doubt any significant damage occurred. I am not a doctor or anything, but i seriously think you're working yourself up over nothing.
